Vision Express chose RGVA Ltd to supply and fit the latest in vinyl technology on their purpose-built mobile eye testing vehicle, aptly named the Vision Van.
Coinciding with World Glaucoma Week (11th-17th March 2018), the Vision Van was kitted out with two fully equipped test rooms containing state of the art technology (including Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), which has been proven to pick up glaucoma up to eight years before any sight loss is experienced) and a dedicated pre-screening area, enabling the team to offer up to 12 free eye tests every day.
Making its debut in Nottingham before hitting 4 major cities across the South East, the aim of the Vision Van was to offer the public free consultations and to raise general awareness of glaucoma, which is the largest preventable cause of sight loss.
To bring the initiative to life, Vision Express are working in partnership with the Road Haulage Association who are operating the Vision Van and who played a big part in creating the brief for such forward-thinking vehicle branding. Seeing that there was an opportunity to create something spectacular with the latest offering from 3M™, the Scotchlite™ Printable Wrap Film 780mC-10R, RGVA proposed the concept of reflective art.
Showcasing a huge, super high-definition iris on both the cab and the front and side of the truck itself, the creative is hard to miss in daylight but even harder to miss in the dark. Owing its striking ‘glow in the dark’ effect to a process which sees millions of particles of crushed glass compressed together into a vinyl material, it reflects light when it’s shone parallel with the viewers eye. So with even the slightest amount of light the blue and green hues of the iris and the white of the logos glow almost fluorescently.
Taking a refreshing approach to vehicle branding, the Vision Van creative itself is beautifully simple but stunningly bought to life with an out of the box approach to materials. It truly is an impressive sight to behold.
